Receive $10 Huckberry credit for use on a future purchase when you buy the Radio Ruck!
The Radio Ruck takes its inspiration from the size of the primary radio used by Special Forces, hence the name.
Special Forces are the judge and jury of quality at GORUCK. Made by American workers with American materials, GORUCK makes some of the finest bags on the planet that are backed by a Scars Lifetime Guarantee, and have been used and abused by Special Forces in war. A few of us here at Huckberry use GORUCK as our #1 bag, and love its versatility, whether we're using it for our daily commute, packing it with bricks for a GORUCK Challenge, or taking it on a trip to Asia.

Why we love this bag:
The Radio Ruck is the ideal everyday pack. It rides high on your back, so when cinched, it isn't going anywhere whether your conquering the bike commute to work or enduring a GORUCK Challenge. It easily holds a laptop, tablet, lunch, jacket, and maybe even a bottle of wine to bring home for the misses.
Unlike most packs, the Radio Ruck opens completely flat for optimal organization and easy packing. This feature, along with the organizational pockets on the inside, make it the ideal travel bag.
It's all about the materials, and since tougher fabrics cost more and are more diccicukt to work with, GORUCK chooses their materials first and goes from their. For the Radio Ruck, they chose 1000D Cordura, silent parachute 550 cord zipper pulls, made in USA YKK zippers, and a 2″x3″ Velcro for you to affix the patch of your choice. All are in line with the best of the assault packs used in Special Forces.
The GR1 uses beefy YKK zippers because, as GORUCK founder and former Green Beret Jason McCarthy has noted: "YKK zippers are the only zippers I trust because I’ve subjected them to everything, and seen them perform during Middle Eastern sandstorms and after being dragged through the mud." And yes, we are geeking out about zippers.
Straps are more complicated than you might think. The thickness, the amount and type of hard/soft padding is meant to provide comfort to the wearer even when Radio Ruck is weighted down fully. Softer padding feels better when the ruck is empty, harder padding works better when the ruck is weighed down.
The angle of exit for the straps was specifically designed to sit high on your back so your stronger shoulders and uppber back are supporting the weight.
The new Batwings allow for a more consistent angle of departure, as opposed to sewing the strap directly to the bag seam.
Need to discreetly carry a 6-pack? No problem!
The Radio Ruck opens all the way, but for quick access, you can open it from the top and have everything easily accessible
Similar to the GR1, but a little smaller for those who want to pack a little lighter. If you're looking to geek out a bit more on the Radio Ruck, hear about it in GORUCK founder Jason McCarthy's words here (which is also where we sourced most of these awesome pictures).
